UNAERP MEDICINE PROGRAM RESEARCH IS PRESENTED AT THE EXPERIMENTAL BIOLOGY 2019

The research produced by professor and students of Unaerp medical course was presented in the “Experimental Biology 2019”, which took place between April 06 and 09, in the city of Orlando, USA. Entitled “Antioxidant effect of resveratrol (component found in the bark and in red wine) in autonomic cardio circulatory control in rats with heart failure”, the study was chosen from 800 abstracts to be presented in an oral presentation at the” Highlights of Translational Physiology” session.

The study, developed in the Medicine Course Research Center and funded by CNPq, counted with the collaboration of the students Marília Durão, Samuel Baijo, João Paulo Miguel and other researchers from USP. “The fact that the study was chosen for presentation at the congress shows the high ability of our students and teachers to do quality scientific research. In addition, participation in this event allowed the dissemination of Unaerp in the international academic environment”, commented professor Marina de Toledo Durand, responsible for the research and one of the coordinators of the Center.

The Experimental Biology event is the largest congress of experimental biology in America and was attended by more than 12,000 researchers, 65 countries and more than 5,000 presentations.

Medicine Research Center Currently, the Research Center that supports the Scientific Initiation Program of the Unaerp Medical Course is composed by five professors, Ana Lúcia Fachin Saltoratto, Marcelo Engracia Garcia, Marina de Toledo Durand, Rosemary Aparecida Furlan Daniel and Renata Dellalibera-Joviliano. With involvement in different areas of research, along with other professors of the course, they are initiating young university students in the field of scientific method and learning specific research techniques.
