UNAERP TEACHER BOOK IDENTIFIES UNIVERSAL STRUCTURE OF LANGUAGE

Unaerp law professor, Dionéia Motta Monte-Serrat, has just released another book, in partnership with researcher Carlo Cattani, professor at the University of Tuscia, in Italy. Entitled “The Natural Language for Artificial Intelligence” (A Linguagem Natural para Inteligência Artificial, in Portuguese), the work was published by the publisher Elsevier, which has great international recognition.

The book presents the biological and logical structure typical of human language in its dynamic role of mediation between reality and the mind. The dynamic elements of language are mapped throughout the work, in order to be understood and executed by intelligent systems, guiding the paradigms of cognitive computing. In addition, the publication also offers examples of application of the universal language model in image analysis and conventional language.

Since artificial intelligence aims to imitate the process of the human mind, the interdisciplinary work shows how cross-fertilization between natural language and artificial intelligence should be done, explains Dionéia. “The importance of the book is in the revelation of the universal structure of language, recognized by linguists, but which had not been described yet”, emphasizes the teacher.

On November 26, the teacher participated, along with Cattani, in a chat promoted by Elsevier. In the presentation, made by digital platform, Dionéia highlighted the importance of publication, the process of developing the book and commented on the partnership with the Italian researcher, known for his studies in the field of computer science.
